| Exceedingly Abundant Understanding of the Mysteries of God
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). The word exceedingly means to excel, to proceed beyond the given or supposed limit, to go beyond, to excel or surpass supposed boundaries. God is ready to do something in your life that goes beyond your asking or thinking. God is saying, “I can go beyond your supposed boundaries.” He is saying, “I can go beyond what you decided you can or cannot do.” We are the ones who set the limits. God is trying to bring us up to the level that’s beyond our comprehension. He’s trying to get us up to a level we have never been to before. I remember when I was in high school and we would see a cool looking guy. We’d walk up to him and say, “Man, you look like a million dollars!” Invariably, they would say, “What are you talking about? You’ve never seen a million dollars!” “We’d say that’s what I mean. You look like something we’ve never seen!” Just because we haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. God is trying to get us up to a level we haven’t seen. If we can get past our comprehension and head knowledge and get more into faith, we will position ourselves to be moved by God into a new level. In Mark the fourth chapter Jesus was with His disciples. He had just finished telling them the parable of the sower. But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, "To you it has been given to know the mystery of the God wants us to know the mystery of the But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:14) The natural man does not receive the mysteries of the In Romans 11:25 Paul is talking about the Jewish people and he says, “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” Paul is saying he does not want us to be ignorant of the mystery. We know that everything operates by faith in the Stay in the Word and stay in faith. Seek after the hidden things of God and God will empower you to receive exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think. |
